Partner’s Program for the
Betterment of the Breed

The unique PARTNER’S PROGRAM offers Labrador owners,
breeders and exhibitors the opportunity to pool their resources
under one program for breeding, raising, placing, training,
conditioning and show handling to create the Winning Edge.

It should be noted that the Winning Edge is for all aspects of dog
ownership, to include health, nutrition, training, conditioning and
competition.

The impetus for the Partners Program came from the realization
that breed clubs just don't provide the nurturing environment
that they should for new, intermediate and even advanced owners,
breeders and exhibitors. Once a month meetings are not enough
to create a sharing environment for exchanging of ideas and for
mentoring.

Having founded the South Florida Labrador
Retriever Club back in 1989, our vision was for a community of
owners, breeders and exhibitors to grow together as a region
where we all could be proud of our dogs and their accomplishments
in the show ring, in obedience, in field related activities and
all those other endeavors that Labradors excel at.

I wish I could say that the mission has been accomplished
by the breed club, sadly it has gone the way of most other breed
clubs. Once a month meetings to plan for a once a year dog show
are the prime objectives with very little growth in the areas
that were envisioned by the founders 19 year's ago.

Enter the Partners Program for the Betterment of the Breed, a
concept truly dedicated to the matters at hand for breeding,
raising, training, conditioning and exhibiting our dogs. Owners,
breeders, exhibitors and handlers pooling their resources to
create a sharing and mentoring environment.

An environment without clubs rules and regulations,
without the small mind mentality that is so pervasive in some breed clubs.
There are no limitations or restrictions in the activities that each
program participant may enter into.

We are a class act in progress,
getting better as time and success dictates.
Today, the Partners Program participants are active in conformation,
agility, obedience competition, therapy work, service training, tracking, hunt & field training and testing, flyball and rally and other activities.

We are proud of the working relationship with each of the following
individuals and Labrador breeders, all for the betterment of the
breed. There have been many that contributed in the past and some
of those are listed following the present Partners, Associates and
Co-Breeders.

The Partners and Associates are listed by the number of years in the program.
Dogs highlighted in red are currently active in the program. We thank each and
every loyal Partner and Associate, for our successes are a direct result of their
participation and contributions throughout the years.

As you will see below, the Partners Program brings different Labrador owners
and breeders together in co-ownerships, working agreements and partnerships,
all for the betterment of the breed.

Many of these fine folk have included their email address to hear from you.
